I get a lot of comments asking me how to do digital infrared photography, so I figured I'd make a tutorial.

if you have any comments or questions about anything covered here, note me. I'd appreciate feedback on the tutorial in itself, since this is only the second one I've ever written.

Next, I'll do a tutorial on false-colour infrared, which will be much shorter (:

EDIT: I basically rewrote the entire tutorial. A few more features, more pictures, some better explanations, and much easier to read.

Very very good, thank you for this, I am definatly considering getting a Infra-red filter now, do you know if you could find out how to set a custom white balance to do this on a 'Canon EOS 400D'?

Just wanting to know so that I dont try and think ive done the best I can when it could be alot better...

on my 350D it's in the menu that pops up when you press the WB button which is the bottom button on the circular button pad.

Thanks, ive tried reading the camera manual but its so thick and theres soooo much in it that it just confuse's me more than helps =/

I know that one for changing it from flash to AWB etc but I'm wanting to know whats the best settings for taking these photos.
